On May 21–23, we participated in a conference on the development of a high-load central banking system, standards, frameworks, and the latest changes for middle and senior developers, Team Leads, CIOs, CTOs, and IT architects.

We discussed the architecture of the ITA FORMS v4 platform and the Product Catalog, as well as the platform’s interaction with the Tariff Calculator based on Tarantool for high-performance online calculations. We discussed how we scaled the system and leveraged the platform’s capabilities to ensure performance while expanding business functionality. We also shared plans for developing the solution.

Our system is designed for bank employees – Product Managers, Analysts, Risk Technologists, Operations Staff, Client Managers, and Call Center Staff.

ITA-FORMS allows you to manage products and tariffs throughout their entire lifecycle: create new products, generate personalized offers, manage product activation parameters, and calculate payment costs based on activated tariffs, client characteristics, and service metering.

The system allows for integration with other Bank systems and interaction with clients via mobile apps, online banking, and personal communication tools.

Product Catalog

The module features a well-designed parameterization system and allows you to configure multiple product and tariff options without programming, thereby ensuring consistent, clear rules for tariff management and reducing the time to market for new products.

Tariff Calculator

High-speed, real-time online commission calculations are ensured by using the Tarantool in-memory database to store tariff settings, customer data, and meters.

System Functionality Expanded

The functionality of the Product Catalog has been expanded, with new roles and actions added to the system.

The commission calculation algorithms have become more complex, and the number of calculation parameters has increased, necessitating optimization of the Tarantool data storage. The real commission calculation algorithms in the tariff calculator can handle a load of up to 400 rps when calculating commissions and 2000 rps when providing information about available subscriptions.

The load on the customer’s Product Profile has increased significantly. In addition to enabling subscriptions, functionality has been added for managing individual tariffs, recurring services, additional subscription participants, and notifications. A large number of services are also available for providing information in various contexts to front-office systems.

The number of services provided by the pricing system currently exceeds 30, and the load requirements for the client’s product profile have also been established – currently exceeding 250 requests per second across all services.

Our experience shows that standardization and extreme simplification of software interfaces is a great benefit that simplifies and accelerates the development process!

Despite the rather sharp increase in load requirements and expanded functionality, the ITA-FORMS platform has ensured the required performance indicators thanks to the applied data management technologies and approaches to developing business functionality.
